Joy is a Health Information Technology Industry Leader with 20 years of experience. She is recognized as Subject Matter Expert in the movement of data between and among systems associated with the healthcare payment stream. Having seen how horribly disconnected our healthcare system services are for those who need it most – both in her personal life and during her time as a Medicaid field rep – Joy decided to take her firsthand experience and begin to break down the information silos that exist in the healthcare ecosystem.
Grounded in public policy with a Master of Public Administration specializing in Health Policy and a pre-med undergraduate track with her Bachelor of Science degree, Joy has built her career on the intimate knowledge of these problems and tracing the movement of relevant clinical, financial, and administrative data associated with the patient care cycle between and among providers, patients, health plans, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
Joy’s career experience over the last 7 years has been focused on building health information technology solutions rooted in the movement of clinical data to lessen administrative burden for both providers and health plans. With the creation and positioning of a Risk Adjustment and Quality portfolio for the Nation’s largest real-time health information network, Joy was successful in taking the P&L for the business line from zero to $15m in 2 1⁄2 years. From this experience Joy took her understanding of legacy and emerging provider and payer technology solutions into the start-up space and guided the repositioning, branding, and launch of a healthcare data platform-as-a-service organization to experience 615% ARR growth in 1 year alongside a successful $23.5m capital raise.
As VedaPointe’s Chief Revenue Officer, Joy focuses on strategic planning, product development, and marketing to expand to new customer segments and establish partnerships, while ultimately strengthening operations to drive profitable growth.
